MEET CANDIDATE CARTER

"DESIGNING ANEW PATH FOR OUR COMMUNITY "

Selina Carter  is a passionate public servant whose career has been dedicated to improving the lives of Central Florida residents. With steadfast dedication, she has advocated progress on pressing issues such as affordable housing, food insecurity, and access to employment, working within the scope of her role to support initiatives and collaborate with partners toward meaningful solutions.
 

With a strong background in public administration, Selina believes that the heart and soul of our city is its people. She has

led and supported innovative grassroots and community-driven programs such as food drives for the unhoused population in Apopka, Florida. This has delivered tangible results ensuring that all residents have opportunities to thrive.


As a devoted mother of three who has overcome significant life challenges, Selina understands the value of self-worth, perseverance, and resilience.

Her personal journey deeply informs her
approach to public service and her mission to uplift families throughout the community.

Among her many accomplishments, Selina was selected to participate in and graduated from the prestigious Mayor’s Citizens Academy of Central Florida, a recognition of her leadership and dedication to civic engagement. She was also honored to serve as a delegate for the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida, advocating for inclusive policies and women's voices in government.


In her most recent role with the Supervisor of Elections, she successfully trained and placed
over 200 volunteers to ensure ethical and effective election processes, further demonstrating
her commitment to empowering everyday citizens

.

In her free time, Selina enjoys gardening and crafting—activities that mirror her leadership
style: nurturing growth, designing thoughtful solutions, and cultivating lasting change.


Now running for County Commissioner in Orange County, Selina brings the same passion,
integrity, and vision to public office.

She is committed to collaborative leadership, sustainable development, and ensuring every voice in the community is heard and valued. Together, with innovative thinking and a shared purpose, Selina believes we can build a more just, inclusive, and prosperous future for all.

Candidate Carter is a fierce advocate for environmental justice, equitable development, and community-driven change. With a lifelong dedication to public service and firsthand experience overcoming economic hardship,

 

Selina understands that the fight for clean air, safe water, and green spaces must include—and prioritize—underserved communities. She believes environmental policy must be people-centered and rooted in equity, access, and sustainability.

Whether addressing housing insecurity, promoting food sovereignty through Second Harvest
Outreach, She promotes environmental progress uplifts every family, not just a few.


As a delegate for the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida and a graduate of the Mayor’s
Citizens Academy, Selina brings grassroots knowledge, administrative expertise, and a deep
respect for civic engagement to the forefront of her leadership.

ENVIRONMENTAL MISSION

To advance environmental justice by creating inclusive, community-first policies that protect
our natural resources, expand access to clean and sustainable infrastructure, and ensure that
frontline communities are empowered in shaping a healthier, more resilient Orange County.

 


 Expand green spaces and urban agriculture in underserved neighborhoods


 Support clean energy initiatives and infrastructure that create local jobs


Promote environmental education and youth engagement in climate solutions


Fight for equitable access to clean water, air, and transit for all communities


 Hold polluters accountable and protect vulnerable residents from environmental harm


 

 

Selina Carter believes that a greener Orange County is worthwhile endeavor and

she’s ready to lead that vision into action.
